Xiaomi has officially applied for a licence to sell its first electric car in China, the SU7 sedan. During the approval process by the local regulatory body, some of the car’s specifications and its final design were revealed.
The Xiaomi SU7 is an electric 4-door, 5-seater sedan with dimensions of 4997 × 1963 × 1455 mm and a wheelbase of 3000 mm. It will have two wheel options: 19 and 20 inches with 245/45 and 245/40 tyres respectively.
Xiaomi has revealed two versions of the SU7 – with and without lidar. The lidar is mounted behind the windscreen. The car is expected to get support for unlocking with facial recognition.
